A Railroader's Grace
Dedication given at the Maple Leaf Chapter, MTC
Brampton, ON, Canada
This was given by "Buck" Byerlay, retired RailRoad Dispatcher in Englehart, ON, May 24, 1997
Our Heavenly Father, Creator and Grand Railroader of the Universe,
We are marshalled together at this time for a schedule of fellowship, food and fun.
We wait at this moment and think of those whom we knew who have been given run a-heads,
and are now in their home terminals. We thank you for their lives.
We also think of those who are running under slow orders, or are in the shops or no tracks awaiting repairs,
And could not make it here at this time. Let your Healing and Comfort be with them.
For those of us who are here, please continue to run our schedules on time,
With right over life's difficulties, with a boost on the steep grades,
Keeping us always on the main track and out of the siding of life.
May we have your blessings on those gathered here, and the food we are about to eat,
and on those who have prepared this food and now serve it.
These things we ask in the name of our Heavenly Railroader, who OK'S our clearances,
with the initials "J.C.", and who is our Lord and Savior.
AMEN
The following is the Morse Day Prayer by Fr. Stephen J. Gregory, WA6FEJ
April 30, 2005
Heavenly Father We thank you at this celebration of the life of Samuel F.B. Morse,
and the Code that he invented, as it got us through wars on land, at sea and in the air,
as we keep this great art alive, in his memory, we pray this in your Name.
Amen.
